Interesting Baseball HoF Fallout and/or Maurice Carthon is a Dumb-ass

Just got finished reading a great, great article by Bob Ryan on Albert Belle and his chances for the Hall of Fame. Any concerned Cleveland sports fans that happen to read this blog should check it out.

Also just read a great column by Terry Pluto in the ABJ about Maurice Carthon and his loose lips. Good luck with that, ass.

damn it... the last two pages require me to register and i'm far too lazy to do that.

but Albert Belle is an unquestionable hall of famer in any other sport (which don't have morality clauses)...

and I'd argue that he was far more moral than Babe Ruth ever was.

Not to mention Ty Cobb, a noted racist who tried to injure people while playing (let's forget AB's "collision" with Fernando Vina for a second).

Vina deserved it, he was in the basepath.

Feel free explain to me the "morality" behind running pre-teen trick-or-treaters with an SUV, throwing a baseball at a fan, coaxing a middle reliever to sneak through an air duct and replace a corked bat, and refusing to run out a double play ball.

All that, vs. Babe Ruth liked his whiskey and his women? Please.

The Industrial Revolution was neither industrial nor a revolution. Discuss.
