There're ass whoopins....

AND THEN THERE'RE ASS WHOOPINS!

So, let's recap. Two of the three worst beatings the Yankees have EVER received have come at the hands of the Tribe.... in the last two years.... and the Tribe sent the SAME STARTING PITCHER to the hill both times. Weird.

19-1 last night. 22-0 back in August of '04. Good times, both.

Hafner is hitting like a man who wants to be voted onto the All Star team. Victor Martinez has been awesome since June 1. The bullpen has been *better*, but still can be an achilles heel (see the two games they lost in the bottom of the 9th on Wednesday and Friday).

Granted, this team isn't making the playoffs (14.5 games out of the WILD CARD, and six teams to catch/pass), no matter what heroics they attempt to pull off. But, it IS nice to see them playing better (6 of 8, should be an 8-game win streak - see above re: two games lost in the 9th) heading into the break. They're 4-under .500 with six to play. It'd be nice to see them at .500 by the break, even though they're still 7 games out of THIRD place in the toughest division in baseball.

Even still, they're playing better.

Now, if LeBron would only sign his extension, I could breathe easier.

the last two games have been very nice... i'm glad they're playing their way back to respectability.... maybe they can play .800 ball the rest of the way

and does anyone know how to write a script to vote for pronk a million times?

and by the way, it is 3 of the best beatings that the yankees have taken as we also beat them 24-6 some year. the only other team to beat them by at least 18 was detroit who did it once 19-1.

hooray for random googled information

I thoroughly enjoyed the Yankee beatings. It is unfortunatel that they tend to fall asleep after handing out a beating like that. The next two games against the Yankees were not so good.

I was there on Friday when they laid the wood to the Orioles and CC pitched phenomenally. However, they come back yesterday and lay another egg.

Oh, and by the way Dan, I was at the Jake spreading the word Pronk-itude. I expect it to catch on heavily here shortly. 5 Grand Slams before the All-Star Break. Unbelievable. His shot on Friday was a bullet. I hate Ozzie Guillen, and with his snubbing of Hafner just adds to it.
